Case Study Two

This mature couple needed to remove their bath to make their bathroom more accessible as getting in and out of the bath became challenging. Whilst there was nothing wrong with their current bathroom it was looking a little dated and was lacking storage. The boxing-in behind the basin and toilet concealed the waste pipes. The lighting was inadequate for persons of advancing age.

They now have a stylish fully tiled wetroom, the flow of the waste pipes unfortunately meant that they have to have a small step-up into the shower. Mosaics on the shower base help to improve the anti-slip properties as well as careful selection of less shiny tiles.

To add to safety stylish grab bars were added after consultation with the client on positioning and a shower seat in the cubicle area. The controls are placed at a height so as to be accessible from sitting or standing, with a rainshower above and handset at sitting height.

Fitted furniture provides the storage solution and clean sleek lines hiding all the plumbing behind. There is extra lighting now above the basin and in the ceiling.

This bathroom now meets all the functional requirements, but is stylish and easy to maintain and keep clean
